Sohn is an evolving project informed by the conflux of design and fashion. Each study meditates on how we live and engage with our environments, ultimately seeking to design products to enrich lives. Sohn objects are created to be heirlooms – pieces to be lived with, cherished, and eventually passed on.
Sohn (손) translates to "hand" in Korean as well as "craftsmanship."
Sohn is designed in Brooklyn, New York by John Sohn. Originally born and raised in Southern California, John left the West Coast to study Fiber Science & Apparel Design at Cornell University. Following graduation, he started as a Ready-To-Wear Designer at New York-based fashion label The Row. He is currently the Head of Design at Rosetta Getty.
